The Mission of Howard Brown Ministry is to "serve" as an Outreach to
those that are in prison, incarcerated, homeless, without a church home,
substance abusers or those that are tired of being caught up in
tradition without a true relationship. The Lord wants us to enjoy life,
our families, friends, and the positive relationship we have developed
with them. Somehow we have changed the priorities; it should be God,
family and then church, not church and then family. As always, God is
first in everything we do. Jesus came to give life and give it more
abundantly. It is my hope through encouragement from the Word of
God and this ministry you will take your rightful place in Christ; to
seek His face, His presence and make Him "Lord of your life".
Lord of your life means every part of your
life is submitted to Jesus authority and control, everything: marriage,
children,
job, finances, decisions, everything. You were created for a
purpose, and God wants to receive all
the glory (glory - to bestow honor
or praise; to magnify) from your life. Simply put, you were created to
"give glory to God". Isaiah 43: 7.
"Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My Glory; I
have formed him, yes, I have made him."
1 Corinthians 10:31
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the
glory of God."
It is for these reasons we have made this site and
its resources available to you. With the Word of God, encouragement, testimonies and
teachings, you should be thoroughly equipped.
Feel free to contact me via the "Contact" page to
share your testimony, prayer requests, schedule a speaking engagement or
just to say "Hello". Our Heavenly Father will reveal His will and
His plan for your life through His "Word" as you increase your walk with
Him through His Word, and bible study tools.
As you read the
contents throughout this website ask God to speak to your heart. If you are looking for His
Presence, He will draw near to you, just humble yourself, Tell God how
much you love Him.
Our goal is to improve the website
daily. I will add or change as The Lord directs. Amen!
FOUR
VERSES TO LIVE BY:
PSALM 91:
(Linked)
Read and Repeat daily, make it a part of your daily prayer. Meaning, as
you read the Psalm close out with a statement
like this or similar; "Lord this is my prayer, in Jesus Name". As you abide
in Him and under
the Shadow of the Almighty, He will protect you against sickness,
spiritual warfare and terror as designated in the Psalm.
Mat 6: 33.
(Linked) "BUT SEEK YOU FIRST THE KINGDOM OF
GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO
YOU."
2ND CORINTHIANS 5:21. "FOR HE MADE HIM WHO KNEW NO SIN TO
BE SIN FOR US, THAT WE MIGHT BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM."
PROVERBS 3:5-6 "TRUST IN THE LORD WILL ALL YOUR HEART, AND LEAN
NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE
SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS."

POSITIVE THINKING CORNER: Men of Color Study Bible
Satan's ploy is to rob and steal from our relationships and us.
Sometimes he will even use things that appear to be good to steal from
you that which would be best. Sometimes it's not Satan at all but
just our thoughtlessness that hurts us. Watch out for these:
* Having too many individualized activities; going in
opposite directions too many days and nights can take its toll.
* Not scheduling time for togetherness; if you don't
schedule time you probably won't find time. Take time for each
other.
* Not communicating regularly or meaningfully; we have to
work at communicating in order to maintain close bonds in the midst of
busyness.
* Not resolving differences that arise; intimacy is
easier to destroy than it is to build . Deal with your issues.
* Communicating in a hurtful way; ask yourself, "Do
my words invite or do they push away?" Never attack a person;
always attack the issue. Speak kindly.
* Being dishonest always hurts. Deception never
helps. Tell the truth.
* Nagging; once you have plainly said something and
you know it's been heard, drop it. Encourage one another.
* Behaving abusively; abusive behavior is damaging to
the spirit and the soul as well as the body. Treat one another in love.
* Being unfaithful; nothing hurts a relationship like
infidelity.
Temporary excitement will never be worth the agony.
A Soulful
Relationship:
Reverend Ronald McFadden: If you're not married
yet share this with a friend. If you are married, share it with your
spouse or other married couples...and reflect on it. An African proverb
states, "Before you get married, keep both eyes open, and after you
marry, close one eye." Before you get involved and make a commitment to
someone, don't let lust, desperation, immaturity, ignorance, pressure
from others or a low self-esteem make you blind to warning signs. Keep
your eyes open, and don't fool yourself that you can change someone or
that what you see as faults aren't really important. Once you decide to
commit to someone, over time their flaws, vulnerabilities, pet peeves,
and differences will become more obvious. If you love your mate and want
the relationship to grow and evolve, you've got to learn to close one
eye and not let every thing bother you.
You and your mate have many different expectations, emotional needs,
values, dreams, weaknesses, and strengths. You are two unique
individuals who have decided to share a life together. Neither of you
are perfect but are you perfect for each other? Do you bring out
the best of each other? Do you compliment and compromise with each
other, or do you compete, compare and control? What do you bring to the
relationship? Do you bring past relationships, past hurt, past mistrust,
past pain? You can't take someone to the altar to alter him or her. You
can't make someone love you or make someone stay. If you develop
self-esteem, spiritual discernment, and "a life", you won't find
yourself making someone else responsible for your happiness or
responsible for your pain. Manipulation, control, jealousy, neediness,
and selfishness are not the ingredients of a thriving, healthy, loving
and lasting relationship.
Seeking status, sex, wealth, and security are the wrong reasons to be
in a relationship. What keeps a relationship strong? Communication,
intimacy, trust, a sense of humor, sharing household tasks, some getaway
time without business or children and daily exchanges (a meal, shared
activity, a hug, a call, a touch, a note). Leave a nice message on their
voicemail or send a nice email. Sharing common goals and interests.
Growth is important. Grow together, not away from each other, giving
each other space to grow without feeling insecure. Allow your mate
to have outside interest. You can't always be together. Give each other
a sense of belonging and assurances of commitment. Don't try to control
one another. Learn each other's family situation. Respect his or her
parents regardless. Don't put pressure on each other for material goods.
Remember for richer or poorer. If these qualities are missing, the
relationship will erode as resentment, withdrawal, abuse, neglect,
dishonesty, and pain replace the passion. "Nurture you mind with great
thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think" The grass
withers, the flowers fades, but the Word of God, stands forever: Isaiah
40:8
The difference between 'United' and
'Untied' is where you put the i.
